1930s Black TIlt Hat, I Magnin

SOLD!

Sultry 1930's, supple black fur-felt tilt topper.   PERFECT for wearing to a Film Noir Festival!   Label is I. Magnin, the upscale department store which employed some of the most talented milliners of the Art Deco Era.  Also "Ranleigh" and a tag with the size "22".

Expertly hand sculpted, the tilt hat is constructed of buttery soft fur-felt in a sort of Confederate cap style.   Crowned with a fabulous triple swirl of top-stitched discs that create a sense of movement as well as great drama.    Elasticized satin scrunched band in back ensure it will sit at any angle you choose.  Size tag is 22, but this hat fits almost any head.

CONDITION:  VERY GOOD  Super clean and well preserved, no moth bites or soiling, no odors, and no wear, no snags or shine.  Deep dark black with no fading or discoloration (any light spots in the photos is from the camera flash, as the hat is inky black).  Stretch band has lost some of its "give", but is firmly attached to the hat.  Inside of hat is very clean and the label is sewn in firmly.
