Millinery Haute Couture: Vintage Designer Hats Fashion Show & Luncheon

Altadena Town and Country Club, 2290 Country Club Dr., Altadena 91001

Saturday, May 7, 12:30 pm

A very special fashion event just in time for Mother's Day! Turn-of-the-century designer hats will take the spotlight on the catwalk as millinery historian and collector Barbara Troeller unpacks her most prized possessions for us.  These are one-of-a-kind creations from the great Parisian and American designers from the late 19th century to the 1940s. Enjoy an elegant luncheon in this beautiful setting while feasting on millinery eye candy!

Tickets:  Museum and Altadena Town and Country Club Members $45; Non-Members $55.  Reservations required, please call 626.577.1660, ext. 15.

UPDATE JUNE 2011 .....The photo below below shows Barbara Troeller (that's me) of Rue de la Paix Hats, with her hat models at a mock tea party posing for the camera directly after the Fashion Show.  The photo was made up into post cards which were mailed out to 50,000 people  to promote and benefit the Pasadena Museum of History.   A few of the hats in this photo were seen in the show...a few are new hats, including one by my favorite milliner, Louise Green.

This event took place at the Altadena Country Club on May 7th, 2011.  That's me on the top left, looking properly haughty as directed by the photographer, Eyegotcha Photography.  He was wonderful!

Feather History & Fashion Pasadena Museum

Fancy Feathers! Barbara Troeller at Pasadena Museum

April 22, 2011

As seen in the Pasadena Star-News, Barbara Troeller, historian of antique millinery, is all smiles and surrounded by an explosion of colorful antique ostrich feathers from her collections.   The Pasadena Museum of History presents the “Mad for Hats!” exhibit from their costume and textile collection through September 23, 2011.  Visit www.pasadenahistory.org to learn more including the Tour and Tea package.    On April 14th, Ms. Troeller presented "A Fine Feather", an evening of entertainment which included a lecture on the history of feathers and the millinery business to a sold out crowd at the museum.   The audience was treated to a dazzling display of antique feathers and rare exotic plumage from her private collection.   A talented milliner, and dealer in fine vintage clothing and exquisite hats of the past, Ms. Troeller is available for hat history lectures, vintage hat shows and trunk shows.  Stroll around her lovely shop here www.ruedelapaixhats.com
